General purpose replacements

Post by jimbo » Sun Apr 28, 2013 5:24 pm

I want to start going over various parts of the car and replacing what looks tired or rusty or is missing completely. Everything from wheel arch liner screws to undertray bolts and washers, rollover hoop screws to the sprung catches that attach the roof bars to the b-pillars. Where would people suggest I get these from, given that most are just bolts screws and washers?

Cheers

James

Identify the bits from the parts manual or deroure and see if your local motor factor has them. The problem I had was that most of the bolts weren't stocked by my local place and they could only order them in in large numbers. How I got around it was to approach my local Lotus indy specialist with a list and they were kind enough to give me what I needed foc (I was off to French Frolic) Since then Eliseshop has put together a big pack of the common screws, nuts, and bolts for the Elise. Maybe Eliseparts do too now. The other place I've used is Trident Motorsport Supplies. They can send you a catalogue.
