Anyone running Yokohama AD08's on Exige?

If so ,how do they compare on the road in dry conditions against Yoko 048's and what tyre pressures do you run them at? Also are the front 205's likely to rub on full-lock or rub through wheel arch liners/headlights? I have heard that there's not much difference in width between front AD08's in 205 and the A048's in 195 so hopefully not an issue. cheers Lee

I am on my S2. 205/45 R16 and 225/45 R17. My car is on LSS Bilsteins and std ride height. No obvious rubbing. For the road I just run std pressures (1.8 bar front and 2 bar rear)

I've only ever run 48s on my S1 on the road so no direct comparison. In terms of how they compare do you mean feel rather than grip as you need to be going some on the road to use much of the extra grip of an R spec tyre on the road. In terms of grip, what can I say - they are grippy! (: And very good in the wet. The have quite rigid sidewalls so will probably feel similar to 48s.

The AD08s are quite a soft tyre relative to your average road tyre but have a treadwear rating of 180 and come with 8mm tread depth so you'll get more miles out of them than 48s and of course they are a lot cheaper.

Not running them on an Exige but I run that size on my turbo VX. I have found them to be excellent road tyres and have done a couple of track days and sprint days on them. The rears lasted about 10k which I though was great. Fronts have loads left. I have a good contact in Fife for tyres and he also has a VX on AD08's. PM me if you want any details.

I just didn't want to trade-off too much dry grip and perhaps make the car handle like an S1 on Pirelli P Zeros :D Its not like the AD08s have a blocky tread pattern of a normal road tyre though so hopefully there wont be a huge difference between them in the dry.
Cheers for the offer Lou but Ronnie (Wheelsaround) came out and fitted the AD's today :thumbsup

I will soon be abel to tell you. I have an Exige S and it has AD 48s on now which are alrming in the wet. I have done 2000 wet miles in torrential conditions and just about lived to tell the tale. I have a set of AO 08s being delivered and as soon as they are fitted in coming weeks am hopeful they will feel a lot safer. I just do fast road driving and want to use the car a lot of the year so hopefully they will do the trick.
I did notice a lot of tramlining and whitelining with the 48s.

Thinking about a set for Oulton/Angelsey in Nov plus over the winter
Brand new set of 48's on Exige at moment only done 1 trackday
Maybe just need to "man up" and go with the 48's :D

Looking forward to hear what you guys think of the AD08's. I really liked the 048's on my car as its mainly dry use only ,I only thought about changing due to them lasting 5-6k miles (rears). I've been out in the car twice since getting the AD08's fitted covering about 15 miles each time ,gentle scrubbing-in miles so can't comment on grip yet. First time out I hated them straight away, the steering felt much lighter and the car felt floaty / Elise-like giving me no confidence in the corners, I even considered taking them off and getting more 048's  Second time out I must have got a bit more used to the lighter steering feel and it didn't seem so bad so I'm going to stick with them, defo less tramlining . At this point I think I prefered the 048's but will see how they go.

Pressures sound about right. Sounds like a few more miles are required to get them scrubbed in.
