There a full sc/cc kit up for sale on seloc. Not sure if I'm tempted or not. If I could buy it and fit it DIY for the asking price then fair enough but there almost certainly hidden costs/problems

Any one done it?

Saw that also. Ricky Gauld fitted my S/C, but Craig Wallace did his own engine conversion and fitted the S/C as well, though he did not C/C it.

Fitting the S/C is fairly straightforward, and it looks as if everything is contained in the kit. It is the same as mine but with the extras that are needed such as upgraded fuel pump, fuel swirl pot, upgraded water pump, 650 injectors, etc.

If I still had N1 I would jump at it, it would cost you double that to put the parts together yourself. However you would need to get your present ECU re-flashed or converted to a K-Pro.

Cheers tut. Now this is probably a daft question but, is it worth it? From an owning and driving point of view? Having owned an rs6 I've visions of it being too much to be fun if you know what I mean?

Very much worth it, especially the way that I use it on the road.

The S/C makes the engine feel like a turbine as the power is there throughout the range unlike a turbo, so makes it very smooth and there is no feel of the VTEC coming in. Means on a road run I am in 6th most of the time which makes it more relaxing when running with the usual suspects, plus getting 30mpg at the same time.

Of course you can use the gears and go through to 8600, but I save this for the track. You can always pop round and try mine out first and talk with Craig if you are contemplating doing it. Would not expect it to stay advertised for long though.

ps:- as Hamish bought Craig's car he would probably lend you his K-Pro initially as it is mapped to the S/C, though not the C/C.

My brother(gedi) has just bought an rgb 260. If I can keep with him in the na Honda I'll be happy...if not it could get expensive!

Going through the joys of the conversion now, I would just buy one already done.

He already has the Honda Andy, just the S/C that he wants to add on.

Looked at doing this as well Dipper.
Cant help think there must be an easier/cheaper way to cool things than chargecooling (eg VF's Toyota Intercooler set up) but Im sure better minds than me have tried all the options.

I hadn't givin it any serious thought till that kit came up. I like the character of the engine as it is but you know what like. Can't have too much poke! my nitrons need a refurb and brakes are still pretty rubbish so probably just as well it's sold!
