Radiator woes: advice needed

Sheesh....bloody car has done more miles on a transporter than under it's own steam this season (rant)  ...speaking of steam, the coolant system emptied quite spectacularly over the windscreen at the weekend. Was overtaking at the time, couldn't see for coolant spraying so ended up in a ditch in darkest Argyll (never happens close to home!) with a bent clam and nice anti-freeze inspired lines on my 6 week old paint job. Anyway....looks like the crimp on the end of the matrix that has gone. I'm assuming it's a replacement rather than repair. ...anyone tell me if the radiator is a rover part, or is it unique to our wonderful machines?
(Standard 04 S2 car)

Been looking around: 150 notes to replace....seems steep for what looks like a standard matrix....if it's a rover part I'm sure it'll be about half that...anyone know where the rad. comes from?

I can't remember reading that it's out of anything else.... Certainly, any upgrades are Elise-specific. But can't be 100% sure on that mate... :(

Also, check breakers and Geary at Eliseparts for 2nd hand.

The matrix is an elise only part, it is not common with any other car.
You can get a new one from the manufacturer for £65 or you may be able to get your own one re cored cheaper.
ther is a link to the manufacturers web site on seloc. if i can find it I will post it up.

Cheers stephen, top tip, hopefully....Get the receptionist: " uh..yes..hmmm...I think we make those...Lotus elise...is that a car radiator? I think I've heard the name...Oh! I've just dropped my lunch...can I call you back?"

Will post wot it costs assuming she finds her dinner and phones back....! :D
