Scottish Elises

I bought the S1 but it came with S2 wheels with a conversion kit.

I have a set of S1 wheels now but I need to buy the studs to put back in the hubs.

I won't say how much Lotus want for a set

I can get them from Elise shop but there not much cheaper.

I think you could use a set of eliseparts studs:

Plus their wheel nuts if you don't have them already. Standard wheel nuts are for the bin.

Check with them re: using in place of standard studs as these are longer and may bottom out in the wheel nut BEFORE the wheel is tight - if that's the case you'll need to turn off the end and this can lead to awkward threading.

Even so at 20 quid a set probably worth the effort - like I say, check with EP.

The bad news it that you need to pull the flanges out of the wheel bearings to replace the studs. There is a very high chance that the wheel bearings will come apart and need to be replaced in the process. It would be counter productive not to give the flanges a proper measure at this point - if they're tapered you may as well bin and replace with either the standard part or the EP stronger part ... .both of which come with new studs fitted ... SO BEFORE YOU BUY NEW STUDS take the old flanges off and decide whether you need:

* Just new studs
* New studs and some new bearings.
* New studs, new flanges and some new bearings.
* New studs, new flanges, new bearings and some new uprights.
* To leave it all alone - S2 wheels are better
