Robin,

Meant to ask you about this yesterday, but kept forgetting....

I'm right in saying you got the 2-way adjustable Protechs, yeah? Had a chance to try them out yet and what do you think of them? (barring the spring length issue...)

So far i am less than impressed but then I haven't actually driven on them.

I couldn't get the correct ride height (or even close) without the springs rattling at full droop. Had a long conversation with Protech about it - they were none the wiser - usual "you're the first person to have noticed it" stuff. Anyway, I'm not, because Simon had same problem, and told them about it.

I had agreed to return them for modification, but in the end I decided to send them to Mark instead to get heavier/shorter springs plus some helpers to stop them rattling at full droop.

As I took them off I noticed that the bump stops had perished (how?!?) so just received those in the post and will send to Mark for fitting into final assembly. Should be up there this week or next for fitting.

The final laugh was that the fronts are meant to be 7" springs, but when I measured them, they were 7.5" springs (but they were labeled as 7!?!). When I mentioned this to protech they said "oh, either will work". But considering they're mis-labeled I guess you could end up with 7 on one side and 7.5 on the other!!!!

I'm going to take them to Spa/Ring/ZV and see what they're like before deciding on which to run and which to ebay or keep as spares.

Cheers,
Robin

I'm happy enough with mine but I couldn't recommend them now. They promised to send me the 'correct' length springs after they sent what they clamed were S1 springs. They never got back to me and I never bothered chasing it up as I just got Mark to get me some shorter ones with helpers.

I've never tried Nitrons so I can't compare the 2.
