I have been working on the car the past few weeks and have repaired the corroded floors and refurbished the heater I have done lots of other wee jobs while I was at it and the car is starting to look good again but....
As I had finished the front compartment I decided to spark her up as she has been sitting for a couple of weeks while I have been working on it.
When I start her up I let the fuel pump prime (I added fuel as it was low) The I fire up the starter it wirls away but the car won't start doesn't even look like ity's going too
Any idea's ?

How fully charged it the battery?
Sometimes when the ECU sees reduced voltage during cranking it's too low to allow the ECU to operate correctly.
I would be checking the earth straps too.
Cheers,
Robin

Battery is fully charged and I ran a second fully charged battery onto the starter and chassis just in case

Check for spark, either pull a plug or use a spare one. Could be moisture inside the distributor cap if it's be sitting outside a while.

The more I think about it the more I worry I have touched something when the car had the spare battery attached at the rear

don’t panic mr mannering

......umm check fuses?!.......if your getting fuel to the cylinder, then it must be electrical

i know that sounds a bit obvious but it helps to simplify things and get you on your way of figuring out what has gone wrong...just a process of elimination.....
on the old cars I have found bad earth on the distributor or the coil has packed in, to cause a no start …….. even ignition connection plug to come loss when driving, it was an old MG midget mind

Tonights plan after I paint the floor is to run around every fuse in the car and double check I will pop off the earth straps and give them a clean while I am in.
