So much for car shows this year then

Take it to the shows and don't use second? Or double-de-clutch - I'm sure a man of your talents can manage this?

Cheers,

The gap 1>>3 is huge and I'm crap at double declutching

I'm worried it might have lunched the synchro instead and it'll have bits of metal floating about.
Second hand box is £600 to £800 and a refurbed box is £1600!

I'll drop the oil (got to do that anyway) and see if there is anything nasty in it.

Got 2 red cars with turbos, pop up lights and a syncrho missing now...

So close though, Rich. You've moved the Esprit through the pain barrier of serious restoration, now it's hitting more general maint failures I think - c'est la vie but you have plenty talent to keep most of it on-track, so swallow hard, save up the £££ and get her back on the road when you can :-)

Stuck with it really, even if I decided to shift it it'll still need fixing before I could.

Going to drop the oil this afternoon see if it's full of shrapnel then start pulling it out... fortunately it's been off recently so *should* be easy enough to get off again.
Getting it out however will be harder... 50KGs of box is hard work to move on your own!

Dude :(

If you were only closer, I'd be there to provide extra arms for hauling the bloody thing out. It's the Renault one on that age, isn't it? Citroen was G cars?

I look at our work car park with derision, bland, identikit 4x4s on complicated lease deals that'll never provide the entertainment that my driveway provides (at a fraction of the cost).

Other days I curse myself for being a stingy cock with too many cars with incurable rattles where half the buttons don't work. And a strange attraction for sh*t plastic cars which seem IN-FUCCING-CAPABLE of keeping their oil and water in separate parts of the fuccing engine.

Pete, maybe its me. Julie came to visit me at Zandvoort yesterday. I saw her car pull up in the paddock, and by the time i had went over to give her a hug it had HGF. seriously, right infront of my eyes, a mayo volcano erupted from the coolant tank. I must be a curse, even on cars that just pass within 100 metres.

To back this up, i have met Rich, many years ago, so maybe i passed on the curse.
