Grill on boot and bonnet of S1

Post by r055 » Fri Jul 01, 2011 10:50 pm

Anyone know how it's fixed?
Noticed tonight it's starting to rust in places

Too lazy to go out at the moment after a long long week in work

They're bonded in Ross, and impossible to come off without damaging them. We had to mask all the paint on ours, then get rid of the rust then a blast of spray paint brings it up like new. Hope that helps! :thumbsup

You would have thought so, but they are mild steel along with the front and rear grills.

Held on with sikaflex or tigerseal, I took mine off painted and refitted no problem :thumbsup

You can paint the rad grilles easily enough in situ; have done mine a couple of times now. News paper on the radiator and mask up the paint work. I just used brush on hammerite, but the rust wasn't at all bad.
