Anyone know how many litres of oil I need to go from min to max oil level on Toyota engine?

Cheers.

Its well over a litre, or maybe thats because I spilled half of it over the engine. Its not an easy cap to reach with a 5 litre bottle

Might have to just RTFM

Litre and a half sounds about right, was out and about last night and the handbook is in the flat. Wanted to make sure I didnt overfill it.

are they supposed to fill up the oil to the max level at the service or around halfway?

if they filled it full then i have managed to burn over 1.5 litres?!

surely that aint possible?!

Yes, dear boy, it seems to be.....

Oil surge with trackdays seems to be a Toyota issue (not that they are admitting anything yet) May be worth saving for an accusump...

My CTR could easily go through half a litre on a 4 hour trackday, it would seem the Toyota engine might be as greedy on the oil.

Checked mine regularly at the start and never used any oil, checked it yesterday and it was down to about 1/4 way above min.

Yes - I put in about a third of a litre after a KH night and Croft day.

I have already asked them to check oil usage - factory had no hard figures but wouldn't be interested in consumption less than 1l/1000miles. Interestingly I think on track it easily performs worse than that, so if all you did was drive to/from and then at KH you could easily use more oil than they would think right and get a new engine - of course if you mistime that you would instead have no engine :-(

Mine has used less than 1/2 L in 12K miles despite plenty of track work.

Some engines do drink hard when worked hard... The old M5 V8 was famous for it's oil consumption, with no outward signs of it.

Having said that, it's concerning having such a discrepancy between engines - I'd maybe have brought usage into the equation (revs used, time at full throttle, etc.) but I can't see Ali grannying the car.....

when i was on track and used the 2nd gear for the chicane etc, i used up oil - car was in the red zone more.

since then i change up when the light comes on - and the oil consumption has dropped.

the exige has a different system with the oil coolers etc.

who knows :)
