Im looking to fit a new induction kit to my S1,and would like some advice,iv heard from various sources,the Hurricane system is best,
but have also been looking at the BMC CDA Induction Kit ,but cant find any reliable reviews,anybody own one?

The BMC is ok butno bespoke kit AFAIK so a bit of a pain in the arse to fit.

You can't really go wrong with the Hurricane kit tbh.

Are you just trying to make it louder, or are you hoping to make the car faster? No induction kit will make it faster (not such that you could measure it, anyway). They'll all make it louder, but whether or not the noise one makes is better than another is totally subjective so you'll need to find some cars with the kits fitted and listen to them.

If you would like to eliminate the paper filter and replace it with a metal filter, K&N (and perhaps others) sell metal filters that fit the standard airbox.

As Robin says, in the old days one of the first things we used to do to the S1, we only had one model of course, was to fit a S/S exhaust, a Hurricane or K&N, and replace the CAT.

The exhaust is a no brainer, the CAT pipe saves weight but puts out more fumes, and the filter does nothing but make more noise. The original was designed for the job, so better to keep it and replace the filter with a long life free flow one.

AS mentioned above Fitting an aftermarket panel filter works and does the job it needs too, I am sure their are other options that make more noise and the choice is ultimatly yours.

I fitted an ITG panel filter.

And I've been running a K&N panel for many years now, I guess it's saved me several £££ in the process.

I remember fondly that Tut kindly donated me something similar, around 2001, when he upgraded N1, what I didn't realise was that these things were meant to have a thin cotton membrane and a consistent wire mesh across them with the appropriate oil impregnated into it. Tut's had none of these features Indeed, a small rodent could probably have wriggled through some of the gaps.
