Anyone tried this app for obd and mil light, bluetooth adaptor plugs into obd port then its all controlled by your phone, displays and resets fault codes and also displays rpm, temp, throttle pos, acceleration, speed, gps location etc, used it today and well impressed, costs £35

Cool. What's the source of the bluetooth OBD2 device - I think I'll need to get one :-)

Cheers,

Its an Android app called torque, the bluetooth device is called xi tech which i got from amazon, there are loads on the market but it was recommended for the app, its really clever and can be left connected for live results, can be used on any car with obd 2 too
Cheers

Lots of info on vx220.org about them, I think they may drain the battery if left plugged in all the time :thumbsup

Let me know what you find, i think to use it with an iphone you need to get a wifi OBD2 transmitter and they are dearer. I think that Apple have locked down the BT on theiphone too much.

I've an old Palm TX I might try though because I knew I kept it for a reason.

Bought something similar four years ago called OBD KEY.

Works with my Palm Treo phone and any Laptop with Bluetooth.

Works well but was a good bit more than £30 back then.

Take care,

Frank

Thats the same one I've got. I've been using it with an old HP PDA I've got, along with my laptop. The Torque app looks a bit better than the software I've got, so I'll maybe give it a try - looks like they do a windows mobile version too.
