I used the guide on elisenet here which was very good but I wanted to add the following hints.
Step 1 of this guide suggests that the storage net hook does not need removed. This is not the case and in fact the set screw in the storage hook is the primary securing fixing for this bit of interior. Maybe this is a difference between earlier and later cars, mine's a 99.
Another important bit of prep that should be added is to the step 10, concerning the removal of any superflous tiger seal around the back of the hole where the cable is secured. I found there was a large amount of sealant which, while not preventing the old nut coming off, made the new nut going on a nightmare and I ended up removing and re-running the cable twice before I had removed enough sealant to allow the new nut to go on. I also used fuse wire to ensure I didn't loose the nut and washer down into the bodywork and tape just wasnt good enough.
Apart from this it was a relatively easy job. I only had a cable and not the new 'solderless nipple' and cable cup kit that you get in the official lotus part (see difference between EP and ES offering). This didn't matter though as the old parts were perfectly servicable and were reused without issue.
Anyway, I'm now able to access my boot and retreive my soft top which has been locked in there since my cable snapped. So if you've seen me going about with the hardtop on, thats the reason.
