Hi guys a wee bit of a techie question about Camber.... I had 7mm of shims on each side and with that there was -0.5 degrees of camber. The shims are made up of 2, 3mm shims and a 1mm shim.. what kind of figures would I see by removing a mm or 2 of shim?
Cheers
Mark

7mm each side??
Pretty sure mine had 3mm each side running -1 degree camber if i remember correctly
There is an approx figure per shim mark, sure i have read it on SE before.

Robin should be along in a minute, with the trig to work this one out. I'm too rusty now!

a 1mm shim is equal to 0.25 degrees of camber

I took 3x 1mm shims out of each side (all there was) and still only got 0.8 degrees, moved the toe from 1mm toe in to 0.5 mm toe out, it fairly changed the car, made it far more positive / sensitive steering, need to to get some decent tyres and try it on track now to get a proper idea of how it behaves

Thanks guys, I'll pop another 3mm out and that should see me with -1.5 degrees

to go from -0.5 to -1.5 you will need to take out another 4mm (0.25 per mm)

Mark,
I have recently changed my camber to 1.5 degrees, made a huge difference on track but not great on the road. Fine when i get some heat in the tyres but when cold or wet it's very easy to lock a wheel. (Campbell

)
I spent a few hours at KH adjusting mine, to get that camber to work I had to set the shocks (Nitrons) very hard and do the same with my roll bar. The turn in is freeking amazing. The trouble now, my car isn't any good unless it's being driven flat out.
Still wouldn't change it.

Thanks Alan, I may well leave it be for now but next year I'm hoping to do a lot more on track as this year has just been a complete wash out for me in all ways

so I think a wee winter refresh will be on the cards ready for next year if I can manage to keep her
