Tyre fitting Glasgow

Post by RDH » Tue Jul 06, 2010 4:17 pm

I used to use Drivers, but alas, they are no more. Any recommendations to get two tyres changed on the Elise?

Sometime used Auto Image in Edinburgh but they have closed down. However believe that they are still going strong in Glasgow on Great Western Road.

Rob, if you search for the post about Drivers folding, someone recommended Performance Tyres in Paisley - I think they'd used them for the Elise.

Wouldnt go there, I've given him plenty of chances for business and he's not followed through with any of them.

Rob,

used performance tyres in Paisley, £10 per corner inc valve and balancing. They took their time and made sure there were no issues when jacking etc. Its a low volume tyre depot so they are friendly. Its a shame I can't for the life of me remember the guys name but he noticed that my headlight guard had come off and gave me the correct sealant to re bond it back on at no cost, he was just glad that he could help :D :thumbsup

Anniesland is high volume, took the passat there to get realigned due to rear tyre ware. Helpful but I don't think I would take my cars there unless I had no choice. Performance in Paisley for me everytime

Always the lady I dealt with in Edinburgh and she seemed helpful enough. Amazing how the same business can be great in one location and go to another and its completely different.

Just goes to show that the people you deal with make the difference :-)

Been years since I had dealing with Auto Image, but when I did I found the Glasgow staff to be more than a touch twatish whilst the Edinburgh folk couldn't be more helpful

if it's just a tyre you want fitted then cairnlea can do that for you - they are a black circles agent.

He's not that keen on working on Lizzy's though !

Opposite experience for me with Performance Tyres in Paisley Rob - they may charge £10 a corner and they may also be nice guys but they still managed to remove a fair bit of paint from two of my four black alloys when they fitted my last set of AD07's. I'd give them a miss to be honest.

If you are fitting AD07's you will be hard pushed to beat Ronnie for price. I'd just drive up to Ronnie's at Auchterarder and have the tyres fitted there - only an hour or so from Glasgow and worth it from the point of view that he will always do a top job.

Cheers,

Other option might be Cooper Bros in New Mains.

Good prices and as a pirelli performance centre they are pretty handy and used to dealing with nice stuff.
