So, I have my first trackday in the elise coming up and wanted to get a little feedback on recommended tyre pressures (at least for the start

)
The car currently has stock Bridgestones on (RE0A40's - I think the code is) and I currently have them set at the pressure as stated in the hand book (26F and 27.5R)
Whats the general concenus for pressures for track use on the stock tyres?
Thanks for any and all info.

If you drive your car hard on track, tyre temps will increase far more than on the road. I bought an infra red thermometer for £12 recently, and that is your best bet.
As a general yardstick, I drop my pressure by around 4lbs to bring it back to the 19/21 that I use on my R tyres on the road.

I'll second Tuts 4 psi drop as a general rule of thumb
The front left does most of the work at knockhill, so you may wish to drop it a further 1psi or raise the front right 1psi - which ever suits...

Thanks chaps,
Was thinking about starting off with them around the 24F and 26R and seeing how I get on.
Thanks again for the input

I'd start at 24/26 as you said and come in after 7 to 10 laps. Check the pressure. They will be like 30/32 if dry. Take some air out if the car starts to understeer (as mentioned, the front works a lot thus the understeer).
May see you on the 27th.

I don't know driving in another way which isn't risky. Each one has to improve himself. Each driver has its limit. My limit is a little bit further than other's.
