ao48 non lotus

Have just purchased a new set of rear ao48s non lotus stamped .
I have opted for medium hard compound .
I know the sidewall and tread constuction is different
(Lotus 48s use nylon instead of rayon in sidewall and tread) also 1 extra layer of rayon in sidewall , but same amount of steel.
Have not read anyting about tyre technology and would be interested in any findings i.e. why rayon instead of nylon.
Was wondering if anyone else had trieid them out as cost is substantially less than lotus part i.e. £120 (fitted as opposed to £160 per tyre.
Will post further after driving on them.
