advice
bought an exige from a dealer down south....far from inpressed with the level of service but thats another story....my most recent problem has to do with the stereo in the car...battery died as it was in the garage over winter....fired her up today...tried switching on the stereo and its asking for some kcard( key card?)...its a blaupunkt 54...it came with no manual or pin code or mysterious keycard....called up the dealer and he said hes got a spare keycard and will send it to me in the post....he says thats all i need...dunno if thats right? any tips???
also i find the seats make my back worse...they r the preprobax ones....anybody had similiar probs?? any cheap fixes other than new probax seats???

Re: advice
sounds about right - I have the same stereo and have an "emergency key card" for it in my car stuff folder..
what seats are they? the performance pack seats with EXIGE written on them and harness holes? if so I have the exact same seats, in non probax, if you would like a swappy - as i'm currently looking into probaxing mine!

Re: advice
not the harness seats:-( its a touring pack..not a pp:-)
Re: advice
Try Elise-shop.com they have a couple of seat options
Re: advice
Pretty much all elise seats are rubbish when you're not working the car. Motorway cruises are killers - I end up doing "exercises" in the seat (those that don't know me, think of a Jabba the Hut working out to a Jane Fonda fitness video
). I find that all the seats are pretty good once on the B-road or on the track. I noticed no real difference switching from my 135R alcantara lined standard padded seats to the probax that I "acquired".
If you had some back issues before hand I would suggest regular B-road blats and/or getting it on track. Otherwise you will just make the problem worse I am afraid, and the only solution will be to get a different car
Cheers,
Robin

Re: advice
hmmm ...i suspect my problem is old age:-(.....think i bought the car 10 yrs too late
Re: advice
Doesn't have to be that way - we've got plenty of "older" owners on here - but there have been some cases of people just not being able to live with the seating position and having to move on
If you already only use the car for fun driving you're probably screwed - if you mostly use for commuting try and use something else for that and keep the Exige for grins
!!

Robin

weekend toy so might just keep it:-)
Re: advice
Khyber, I was perfectly happy with my standard Elise seats for years and hundreds of thousands of miles, but after the last spine op, and the numbness, they were getting uncomfortable, so I bought a Lotus Corbeau Motorsport one on eBay complete with harness, and that has made a big improvement as well as holding me in far better on track.

Re: advice
When I had Elises with standard seats I found I had to have the lumbar support pumped up really hard to avoid back pain on long journeys. The probax seats have proved to be really comfortable for me
