NLC - BMW 330d - Propshaft Shuddering

I've got a problem with a shudder from the propshaft
It only happens below 30mph / 1st 2nd 3rd

I've replaced the "Artic disc" which is a big rubber washer with 6 metal holes in it (£100)

Part number 2
this goes between the propshaft & the gearbox.
It was knackered / worn & this has helped.
however the problem is still there.

A few guys on the BMW forum reckon its a clutch problem, but i dont think so, as the problem is there when the gear is already engaged.
see the forum thread:

I know theres a lot of technical minded guys on here & i probably trust you lots opinion more than anyone else.

any input would be much appreciated.

Cheers
David

I'd take a look at the whole lot, the propshaft is contained by that big central bearing.
Any wear on that and it'll vibrate like mad.

Also check the whole back end rubber mounts for deterioration.

Thanks

Part number 8 looks like the culprit

You sure its definitely the propshaft? The only reason i ask is because when i pulled away hard in mine or dropped a gear the engine would hit the bulkhead, turned out to be a engine mount after BM replacing a few other bits under warranty before hand.

The shuddering is in the transmission tunnel -( Is that what you call it ?? )
and one of the engine mounts got replaced 18 months ago

Are all the wieghts still on the propshaft. They are weighted at specific points to balance out the shaftm worth checking that one hasn't been knocked off.

Saying that it would normally get worse the faster you go.

I was doing over a ton last night on the motorway

Had this on a 5 series

BMW state that you have to replace both bearing and rubber (under the rules if one goes.....so will the other)

I got mine repaired by someone in Paisley (Drive-Line?)who maufacturers/repairs almost anything in the bearing and propshaft world

There was a fishing boat prop getting repaired before me...........much cheapness

Just got that part fitted today (number 7) & it has cured it ! - at last.
Dont know if the actual bearing was shot, but there was no rubber surround left that held it into the bracket.
and the propshaft was rattling off the bracket.
£56 for the part & £60 labour..... ding dang do...
