The floor is part of the chassis, so supposedly what they do is bond a new floor on top, and then put some new mats in. Has it actually gone through? Mine was covered in blue crystals (Aluminium Chloride) and pitted in a few spots but mostly ok. If it's no too bad they will tidy it up and give you a mat to cover it up.
I dried mine out (It was soaking) and brushed all the loose crap out. Then gave it a going over with a stiff brush. As mine is out of warranty I then scraped all the corrosion up with a knife blade and there wasn't that much damage. I still have to get it painted at work.
Good luck!

Rich I don't think the floor is structual hence they just bond a new pannel in if required.

I have also been having a look at my floor today as I am booked into MMC on Tuesday morning so that they can have a look at it. Aparently all they do to begin with is take some pictures and send them to Hethel.
There were very few lumps on my black rubber mats but I decided to lift the driver's one for a look
Cleaned up with soapy water
Closer look

Not too bad then but worse than I thought it was going to be.
I'll let you know how I get on at MMC.
Cheers

No cost involved (for me) as it will be done under the 8 year anti corrosion warranty

Floor isn't structural, but they don't acually remove the old one, they just glue a new one on top.
Should be no cost if you are in the 8 year warranty.

Anyone know what the cost of this repair is if its out of warranty?
Only heard about this after my 8 year warranty was up, and the floor mats feel bumpy. Scared to look!

I looked on Demon T for some carbon sheeting and was <£200 for a piece that should fit both wells.

Why on earth would you fit CF? A sheet of alloy bonded to the old stuff will do just fine and cost you a fraction of the price! If you're wanting it lighter then do nothing - time and the weather will increase your PTW ratio for you ...

Dave,
Just silicone or sikaflex a sheet of aluminium in yourself. an old road sign should do the trick. (joking asside it would)
This reminds me i still have to take mine to MMC Edinburgh as MMC Glasgow fcuk up the bonding three times over 5 days before i got pissed off and took the car back off them.
Pauline was really nice about it before she left but i've been too busy to take a day off just to get the floor done

Sanjoy, Carbon Fibre an then ditch the matts altogether? Might be nice, if not a bit expensive... not to mention slippy?
