hi all

Has anybody heard of the camcon vvti controllers for toyota motors?? i know one can flash the ecu to drop the cam changeover point ...i was just wondering if anyone has tried something like the camcon controller.

It might work with toyotas ECUs in their cars which have vvti, but all the chat about the Lotus ECU that does the cam change is that its very difficult to crack.

It took years from the 111R/S2 Exige being released to companies doing /being able to remap the Lotus ECU to lower the vvti point. Also vvti and vvtl-i are two different things I think.

VVTL-i and VVT-i are quite different beasts. That said, you can probably force the engine into high duration/high lift mode without too much grief, but the ECU will not fuel/time it for you correctly at that point as it doesn't realise the engine is running in this mode. Worse, it might actually throw a hissy fit and put the 5,500 RPM rev limiter on thinking that something is amiss with the engine.

I wouldn't bother ...
