My flexi section is bust tho (it failed on that too), could this be affecting the lambda reading?? :-/ Was planning on fitting a new fexi soon anyways.
cheers

To clarify, even though your car has a lambda sensor, the MOT tester is not checking your lambda sensor but rather the O2 content of the exhaust. As you have a hole in the exhaust the extra air that is drawing in is making the O2 content wrong. Having said that, I cannot see why it would fail on too much O2 ... as we discussed on the telephone, what's probably going to cause you to buy a new Lambda sensor is the fact that you'll end up changing in the exhaust manifold and the old one won't come out withough WMD ..Scottd wrote:It only failed on the Lambda reading, the CO and HC were fine. Do I need a new lambda sensor? If so where's the cheapest, Rover in Dundee want over £100
Not entirely sure it's the right one tho.

And you think AC is the best place to take it?Bennicus wrote:Out of interest, where are you getting your MOT done, Scott? The Arnold clark MG/rover place just off the Kingsway? I'm due an MOT in a month or two and would like a garage that won't destroy my beautiful beautiful car.
Nah, I tend to avoid official dealerships like the plague, the only reason I asked about that place was because Scott mentioned they wanted £100 for the sensor, wasn't really sure if that implied he was getting the MOT there too. I'll bear the proton d****r & Fairfield Road place in mind tho, cheers!simon wrote:And you think AC is the best place to take it?Bennicus wrote:Out of interest, where are you getting your MOT done, Scott? Avoid at all costs or you WILL regret it
I've said before about servicing and didn't know if they done any but I know that the Proton dealer has definately done MOTs on Elises. There's also the place that Lee recommended on Fairfield Road I think but dunno if they do MOTs. A guy at work also told me he saw an Elise in a garage near the Mosque down from the Globe, can't remember the name of the place tho.
Dundee - Dunfermline = 30 mins, not that much of a trekandysc wrote:Had the same problem with mine a few months back, Co2 high.
Got the new lambda for 40 bucks from a motor factors & also found holes in exhaust. Changed both just to be sure. Lambda is an interesting job, be prepared to bleed profusely. I think it was just the exhaust but I thought I'd best be sure as its a pain having to go back for the third time if it fails again!
got lambda from WD autofactors in Dunfermline. A bit of a treck from Dundee though.....

Rich last time I looked at mine it was the same, but the Elise Parts exhaust has been vibrating the fek out of it. It certainly sounds much worse now anyways.RICHARDHUMBLE wrote:Scott how busted is your flexi? I have one with a knackered mesh bit that tizzes a bit, but it looks gas tight if you want it.

Yea I wouldn't touch Arnold Clark. I'm going to a place that used to be very 'friendly' but now due to all the computer stuff they have to do, it's just like going anywhere elseBennicus wrote:Out of interest, where are you getting your MOT done, Scott?
