Gloss Black - Paint Code?

I'm confused....... 
I've called a few garages now, asking if they could paint my splitter/pods/spoiler in gloss black rather than satin and a couple have asked me for paint codes and one actually had no idea what i was talking about....
Is there a paint code for Gloss Black?
Maybe a stupid question
but i was under the impression it would just be a general colour that they would be able to do for me....
