Unsurpisingly I have a few issues to iron out with the old Esprit that I want to rectify before S'stone in August.

Anyone near enough the Larbert area to do homers to help with some wiring, relays etc etc :?

Also on the look out for any good (yet cheap) engine builders with a flair for Lotus.

I'm Edinburgh based and am handy with a wiring diagram - what's the scale of the problem? Is it stuff not working or more like total loom replacement? I know nothing about Esprits except they leak when driven underwater ...

Hi Robin,
That's great :P

For now it's basically making sure existing connections are right - properly earthed etc - makign sure sensors doing their thing.. we're getting unstable voltage from battery to ecu so really it's a case of testing from battery back if you fancy a weekend poking about an old Esprit..

From there it would be to gradually tidy up what is there - replace anything suspect and make things like relays and fuses much easier to identify and replace - i.e. build a proper relay box etc. but that's down the line after this season.

I have full wiring diagrams but have no confidence with such stuff.. I'm more your typical spanner grunt..  :( If you were intersted then I guess a quick trip off to sunny Larbert and a look through the witing diagrams and see the car may be an idea.

PM if you're interested and we can talk turkey - most auto sparkies will either a) not want to touch it, b) not want to do homers or c) charge neuro-surgeon consultancy rates.. :(

OK - I'm game but I need to work out exactly when I can help.

I am off to Spa/Ring middle of next week so would probably need to be during the week this week - cannot make Mon/Tue/Wed as already booked for other stuff, so am thinking it would need to be Thu/Fri pm - is the car in a lit garage with electricity? Can be hard to work outdoors, esp., at nights ...

I can probably get away early on Thursday so that's going to work better for me - could be in sunny Larbert before 7pm I would think ... take a couple of hours to go over what you have and what is/isn't working and then try and work out what needs doing ...

Cheers,
Robin
