Just wondering if you can get thicker than stock pads into the Elise calipers ?.... can anyone have a measure up to see what the clearances with pads out and pistons fully retracted are so we can see if we can increase over book spec thickness to make longer lifespan etc ?

Cheers

Anyone got a car in bits or available to do some measuring up for me ? ...what im after is gap between disc and caliper when pistons etc are fully retracted so i can see if a thicker than 'book spec' pad can be made :)

Cheers

From memory, they are pretty tight at original spec. Certainly, you can have issues getting some of the thicker pads (EBC for instance) and new discs in at the same time - can bind slightly.

Ah right no problems thats ok then, was just concerned that we are grinding off friction material that could be used for braking :D
