Can two rear AO48s fit in an Elise or an Exige?

I've fitted two front tyres in my old Elise before, but I need to pick up a full set of AO48s and I just wondered if we take the Elise and the Exige, will we fit all 4 tyres in? Anyone done this before?

Will I get the tyres through the door in the Exige? Will the two rears fit the width of the Elise or Exige seat without affecting the use of the gearstick?

Cheers,
D

From memory, I've had 2 rears in the S1 - but it was tight. IIRC, the yota gearstick moves more to the left for first as well... I'd not be confident with the slightly more voluminous dash on the S2 either, as they were jammed in pretty tight in the Shugmobile - that was for 16" too, so yours are an inch bigger diameter...

I'd be surprised, put it that way.

Cheers Shug. Think we'll stick with plan B then (borrow the Heds parental estate car support vehicle! :D)

I had 2 rears in my S2 no problem. I also managed to get 4 S1 tyres in the old yellow shed, so it can be done.

If your taking 2 cars, put a front and a rear in each car.

As with McKean, one front and rear in each. Or maybe fronts only in the Exige if you have the roof on...
Had 2 rears in the Exige (albeit with soft top - made it easier to get them in and out).

It is a squeeze, take something to wrap them in and use the harnesses/belts to help secure them. I used another luggage strap to tie them to the harness bar left of the pax seat - keeps them out of the way of the gearstick. Otherwise you might be reduced to 3-6th.

As said by others, can be done. Either both fit on the seat and can't use 2nd gear or I put one on the sill and the other on the seat with the seatbelt round them as was stop/starting a lot through Edinburgh traffic so needed 1st and 2nd a lot.
