I replaced the bushes and bit's spherical joints on my gear boxselector and I think I need to adjust it all so my gearchange is sweet. I don't want to think about worm selector forks, having stripped one gearbox I vowed never again. plus if the gearbox ever comes out I will put in a close ratio number. anyway...

Does anyone know the proper procedure for setting the gearbox, by that I mean the cables and the spherical joints.

the link rod with spherical bearings is the cross gate, that determines the left right position of the lever, I don't rememebr the fore/aft adjust, bottom of the gear lever perhaps? There is a cross gate stop at the base of the lever too.

Best done with two people over a pit or high ramps.

One on linkage adjustement underneath and the other in the car going through all the gears till you get the sweet spot.

It's in the manual/work mode.

Seriously, the service manual describes how to do it, and I think the Seloc techwiki. I think the nominal center to center length of the ball jointed part is 70mm. It's then adjusted to get the change sweet.
