After cooking the brakes 4 times at the weekend think it needs a fluid change.
Whats your recommendations for track use that doesnt kill the brake feel?

Super blue racing from Eurocarparts seems to work fine for me (it even matches the car in colour!)... and it's only about £13 a litre so gets changed regularly....
Doing it again when I fit my rear hoses on Thurs evening if all goes according to plan...

Castrol SRF, expensive but the best you can buy

Not worth trying to save money on brake stuff IMHO

Im not 100% sure on the pads, think they are EBC Yellows and Drilled discs. Standard AP calipers
the castrol stuff looks good, reas its used on formula 1 cars?!

You dont really need it in the elise, you shouldnt be boiling fluid within 30 mins on track.
the 10 quid castrol, or 13 quid blue stuff is good enough

if its not boiling what do you suggest was happening? I did get about 25 laps in before it went.

It could be boiling, but only because :-
A) your current fluid has a high moisture content and a low wet boiling point
B) your current fluid has a low moisture content but a low dry boiling point
C) your harder on the brakes that the racers on here
The solution to either A or B is to put the blue stuff in
The solution to C is to remember it's a track day and chill out a bit.

It could be boiling beacuse it's old and needs changed. Brake fluid sooks in water as it gets older, lowering it's boiling point. Super Dot4 stuff (like what DDtB is suggesting) is more than ample - the SRF is only useful if you're racing an Elise and even then, it's marginal whether it's any better than regularly changed Super Dot4

Change it once a year at least - more if you track it a lot.

yes, as mentioned, could just be old fluid, or possibly air in it. Worth bleeding/changing fluid, then, if you still have problems, we can look into it a bit more.
