I certainly will! Red, you say? Mine are yellow. Anything else to look for? ;-)

Take it there's a good cost reduction on this Nitron Red variant though?

I will be interested to hear how you get on with these Neil, I would have bought a set, but after being promised them for so long couldn't hang out any longer, still I could be persuaded to change again.

DId your 160 have std Konis or LSS Konis?

I can't wait to see these at Donny. I've stuck with LSS (much the same as std S2 Bilsteins) as I just don't want 'blue' Nitrons for the road. These really do sound like the answer!

You don't need to tell us. Most of us already know the answer ;-)

A std S2 set in Steve Butts 100-110 config would do you nicely Graeme. Might find them a couple of tenths softer than your LSS but they will last forever and no tinkering required :-) Oh and they are a truly brilliant damper, my scamper down the A701 this morning having geo all properly set up makes me wonder why I didn't fit them years ago.

Or you could go the full boonha (sp?) and get S2 LSS =8-o but muchas spondulicks involved there I think.

Are these Nitron Reds adjustable?

Reds are adjustable for height only.

I had the S2 kit at 100/110 on my first S1. A fine kit it was, and very good value, but the S1 LSS is better. Just.

Height-adjustable only = good idea. These things might just take off if the spring rates and valving are set right.

FFS.

But not totally unexpected mate.

Might just be worth asking them about upgrading them to the full nitrons and getting a significant discount on the cost difference for your inconvieniance. That way... They can do there own bloody development work and your sorted with a "proven package"!

Why should you have to refit another set set. Let's face it, the next lot you get might be sh*t as well.

bloody hell - are they paying you for being their test mule ?

Would have hoped they'd have nailed this first time given the tremendous effort that they already make - how hard can it be?

Hi Neil,

Hi Neil,

Sorry that you've had to deal with this and I wasn't consulted. Don't know how much you've been told or who you've spoken to, but I have been investigating this as I supplied the dampers to you.

I think its important to point out that this is not a design problem but simply an assembly one. It is embarrasing to say the least for Nitron and I'm sure they will do their best to sort it out with the minimum off hassle for the customers.

It is unfortunate that there are no spare sets in the country but the situation was that the first 10 sets would be evaluated before they went into full production. The good news is that there don't appear to be any issues with the design of the dampers and they seem to perform very well so once your's have been checked and rebuilt they should be excellent.

Sorry I haven't managed to give you a call yet regarding this but as I'm sure you're aware things are a bt hectic for me at the minute. I will give you a buzz tomorrow to see if I can help. If you do speak to Nitron, make sure you ask to speak to Guy and I'm sure he'll sort things out for you.

Cheers
