Mone has been broken for some time. Learnt to live with it. Pretty sure someone did a DIY fix though.

To be honest it's been broken for ages and I've DIY fixed it a few times - hardtop has been on over the winter but it has been removed for the rest of the year (hopefully) - so I thought I'd do it properly.... not for £115 though.

Don't they do that with the Lotus refurb anyway?
I should be getting my softtop back on Wednesday, it's been down to Lotus for a refurb, at a cost of less than 70 quid. If you can live without the roof for 4-6 weeks it's probably worth a shout.
I'll report back on what mine is like when I get it / I reckon someone has already put up pics of theres after a refurb.

Seen the cable on flee-bay a few times. Not for anywhere near that much.

Lotus only change the tensioner cable to order, for £209 all-in as part of a refurb.
They only tidy up the stitching, replace the front header bar and the elastic retainers for the tails, for the £70 version of the service.
However the tensioner is a tricky job, I believe, and for what your roof gives you, I'd say it's worth the money to get it done right when it does let go. A new roof is several hundred pounds, if you were to screw it up
