FFS. Bootlid cable siezed. Tried banging and pulling. Tried swearing.
Where is the hole needed. Left, right or centre?

heard of people taking the rear number plate off and drilling in behind that...
happened to me - although Stephen got me to tie a bit of string on it for the time it does go snap - so all I needed to do was go into the rear wheel arch and pull the string behind the cover to open the boot.
EDIT:
I would not consider the electric boot opener from elise parts - i bought it and its not the best - ive not had a chance to moan at geary yet, but I will hopefully gather evidence over the next few days.

and I'm really happy with my botched together electric boot openerit cost me <£15
with that money you could have also wired it into a button or something.
I like the idea of the one I bought - they give you a stainless push button which get put on just out of sight under the rear plat overhang and only gets powered up with the push of the alarm fob (taking signal from indicators)
the kit is far too stingey on wire lengths and mechanism link and you have to hack the hell out of the lock enclosure
As im working away alot at the moment and the dark nights/ lack of garage, ive not had a good tamper with it though

mine takes power from the fag lighter, downside it only works when the ignition is on I still havent cleaned it up yet so it has a big ugly switch hanging out of the fag lighter hole
I used a big of aluminium from a suspended ceiling mounted a maplin actuator on it and rivited it on to the back of the rain gutter.
It is cable operated just like the original so no need to hack anything
and it could be changed back simply.
I was going to fit it to the spare switch on the dash but got thought a little red switch just above the fag lighter would be cool (it would light up when pressed

That it has a 5kg pull if memory serves me right and it works fine, the spring on mine wasn't that powerful it was just the rusted up handel that made it stiff

you could fit a motor to it or run a hydralic pump off the engine so that when you brake the engine cover pops up for extra downforceNOOPS 160 wrote:Electric boot opener.....what ever next ........
or you oculd just fit a spoiler with flexible mounts that would weigh less

Had the wheel arch out to chage the boot cable... ehm... how do you get to the nut on the end.. . there is another fibreglass bit under the arch..
Do you have to take the speakers out and go in from that side?
Have tried several times to get the inner cable free but to no avail.. need to change the whole lot. also cracked the little plastic finnisher peice.. think it was cold related as I didnt hit it that hard when it cracked.
