Hi there wonder if anyone has this problem, i have not long had the car and have since started hearing a noise when going over bumps.

the noise sounds like metal to metal and from the underneath front passenger side. at first i thought that it was a brake pipe or similar that had worked loose.

the car has been back to the dealer (not lotus) to get checked out and they checked out all ball joints bearings and track rod arms all was fine.

not sure what is causing it.

also anyone know how to stop the panel behind the rear window to stop rattling. the one that sits behind the engine on top of all the bulkhead stuff to make it look pretty. its doing my head in.

Classic case... New owners finding ways to stop rattles etc.. Trust me we ALL have loads that do our head in..

Solution - louder exhaust or cd player

Oh and the noise could be because you have non standard pads hitting off the brake discs... This was happening on mine. Sounded like a metal thud and when on bumpy surfaces it was a quite obv rattle...

p.s - u'll never stop rattles/squeeks/strange noises when driving a lotus....

guys i knew that would be the answer but this rattle is something alittle louder than that.

as you say its a lotus and it will rattle. i was ready forthat part. almost.

in all honesty the car is superb tho, really makes my day getting outfor a spin. love it

Best bet is to meet up with a fellow weegie and take him for a run and let them hear it... its probly brake rattle but ball joints do go occasionaly, although I aint too shure what noises you would get from them.
