Hey guys...
Looking for a little bit of help... or a point in the right direction.
Ever since i got my elise - the heating controller (temperature not the fan control) seems to be jammed.
I think its something at the back thats jammed but am wondering if anyone has accessed the heating control panel... how easy is it? Is it a job for briggy or MMC???
Thanks in advance!!

Hey briggy,

Sounds like you've got the same problem as me! Dont do what i did and give the knob a big twist - i've got to set the heat by fumbling about inside the front clam now

A few things to check first though if you like.... Underneath the windscreen scooshy resevoir there's the heater matrix that's got the cable from the cabin attached to it. You can get to this by lifting the scooshy water bottle out. There will be a little arm with the cable attached & you can try shifting it by hand to un-sieze it. Liberal quantities of wd40 might be helpfull!

Cheers,

Steve

Hey briggy,

Sounds like you've got the same problem as me! Do what I should have done and trade in the S2 for an S1.. complete with proper heater

Cheers,

Steve

Yeah - this has happened to Mandy's car too on serveral occasions.

It can either be as steve described - in which case wiggling the bit inside the service compartment, whilst getting some one to twist the internal knob works wonders as does a good lubing once it's moving freely.

Alterntively it could be that it's came adrift from a p clip somewhere under the dash and rather than moving the control arm the cable and outer is just moving around (sorry can't think of any risque comments to make about this)

Put some proper lube over the mechanism now if you've just theft the WD40 on. Things seize back up again with WD unfortunately.
