...is what we all need on our Lotuses by the sound of it...
Has anyone had good success with a great bulb at a fair price?
...or do we just angle them up really high, which wont blind anyone cos the bulbs are pants anyway...
Cheers,
Mike

I assume that they make some to fit, but the halfrauds rally bulbs are a higher wattage and are about £6 each. Great improvement but might fry your wiring and melt the bulb holders...

I have Halfords own "30% brighter" or whatever they are, and they are a little better. TBH I never had a problem with the Elise lighting. Dipped beam does the job, and full beam with the extra driving lamps is mega.
Check yours are correctly aligned - there is a way to do it with level ground and a wall, or your local MOT station has the techie gear for an easier life

I use PIAA bulbs now. Fairly expensive but far, far, far better than normal ones!
BTW. I can also supply PIAA parts

Headtorch
Seriously though the larger watt Halfords one do work but do end up melting the holders after sustained usage (6hrs+).
WOrth looking at your actual lights to see if the reflectors have rusted, just realised this is a S1 phenomenon but well worth posting.

The higher wattage ones are to be avoided on standard wiring. But the 30% brigher ones at same wattage are deffo brighter...or at least whiter!
I know cos I got one brighter and one regular in each headlamp...and there IS a difference

I have the Halfords 30% brighter for main beam and HID on dipped and it's night and day between them, the HID's are miles better. I might consider getting main beam HIDs too if Yvo's group buy prices are good.

I think for S1s you have a major conversion job to do to install HIDs. I'll stick with my 30% brigher ta very much

For now...

Nah, not a big job, you just have to wire in the ballasts and bolt them to something... or so I have read....
