S2 Elise - Coolant Pipes Knocking when hot.......

Post by a4drk » Tue Oct 16, 2007 6:33 pm

Anyone else had this problem?

There are metal pipes that run up the chasis legs (NS & OS) of the car.
to & from the radiator / engine.
There are rubber hoses for the bends etc, but the long straights are metal pipes.
In the chasis leg there is a square piece of foam which holds the metal pipe in place. I thought that this was worn & the pipe was knocking off the sides - however, i took the tray off & had a wee look. Everything looks OK.
Is there anywhere else that this could be?
It's happening on both sides.......

Odd.

have you checked for stuff under the seats? I thought I had a major problem, a huge clunk on hard cornring.

It was a CD under the seat...
