DIY A Service?
DIY A Service?
So then gents,
What is the opinion on servicing DIY?
I'm due an A service in 1k miles and was wondering about saving a few bob. (Read: tight barsteward) Afterall my car is already 8 years/42k old and an A service is an oil change and inspections. Looking at the inspections, fluid levels, brake wear, suspension, etc I can't see anything difficult to do.
Will I suffer later on with an incomplete service history?
Failing that it looks like a trip to Falklands unless anyone has any better options?
/pikey
Cheers

Hi,
I use my mates garage in Dundee for servicing (D.L Motors -Fairfield St). I do most of the inspections myself and take the oil/service parts along to them to fit and get the book stamped. Last service cost me about £30 plus parts
They have done quite a bit of work on my Elises over the last 5 years so know the jacking points etc

Thanks I'll check them out! £30 would calm my inner pikey
