Glasgow, Lotus Friendly MOT Station

Post by Jinty » Tue Sep 11, 2007 8:37 pm

Just wondering if anyone can recommend a MOT station in Glasgow that they have used in the past.

I wouldn't know where to start and obviously don't want to take it to any old place.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Cheers

I use Curtis Motors in Rutherglen for all of the cars, from Maryln Roadster (2.8 TR6 engined) MGF adn the elise. They have always done a good job and understand why to heat the k series engine up before testing emissions. They are however a small MOT station with an incredibly long queue of cars being tested

There details are:

Curtis Motors
358, Curtis Avenue, Rutherglen, Glasgow, Lanarkshire G73 2EB
Tel: 0141 569 3339

Down the road at Thornliebank there is Car Care who do MOT's for £30 ( or there abouts) with no retest fee when it fails  They have been good with me and know how to lift an Elise properly .

You have to book ahead as they are quite busy .

Had mine done at MOT centre in Pollokshaws. Was told they "didn't really know how to get into anything" due to undertrays, etc, so if you're looking for somewhere that it should breeze through!

Autotech in Paisley, as I work just round the corner from the place.

Guy said it passed with flying colours and that I had a good wee car there!

I drove the car to work on Monday after a weeks holiday then remembered when in work that the MOT had ran out DOH.

Ah well all done for another year...!
