Come on, J33MA, you know we have nothing better to do all day, so let's hear what it is you spend your day doing, when not banged up for having the wrong colour car/pads
cheers,
Robin
Electrician, Usually do 4/5 hours shifts a day , then work for myself at night . Not working tonight, so what better to do than wind up some SE'ers and play Call of Duty 4.

TBH I think that the references to caliper paint are because its heat resistant enough for calipers so should be good enough for the back plates. Just be careful around the dust seals, they might not like the chemicals in the paint.
I would be inclined (not to paint the pads but...) to just paint the bits you can see, trace round the caliper with a marker pen, remove the pads, paint the bit you have marked, replace.
Jobs a carrot.

Perhaps , I havent explained myself very well , Thats what I intend to do .
I am simply going to remove the wheel and paint the bits of pad I can see. Nothing more , few people confused maybe.
I think that should be cool eh ?

Why don't you paint only the bits of pad that are visible to the eye
You can get caliper painting kits from halfords which should have paint that will withstand the temps you will be reaching
Just try not to buy a bigger spoiler while you are in there
If you read my first post correctly thats what I Intend to do you fcuk idiot.
I AM NOT PAINTING MY CALIPERS.
rs42 PADS are blue , When fitted INSIDE the CALIPER , the pad is still visible more so at the rear .
So now my car has an ugly blue bit showing inside the rear wheels, which accidently makes my car look , to the untrained eye that I have tryed to paint my calipers. It looks sh*t .
Jesus , do half of you even know what I am talking about ?
Go get yourself some pagids , then you will realise !
I do have pagids you wee ned as i find them quite good on the track but i use the grey ones as they are better suited to the 7 that has regular track work. Though i don't tend to buy brake pads based on colour maybe you should.
And i suggest that you read my post about getting paint easily that will withstand the temps, you will also find that people are talking about the paint causing problems with heat transfer hence the suggestion you only paint the visible bits.
So before you start hurling round personal insults cool off and read what i am saying.

Dunno about "cool" last time I was "cool" was whenI had a global hypercolour t-shirt....
But it would work, as, if it didn't work (ire the paint burns) it won't do anything much harm.

Hope one of the mods has had a word with you for calling Thinfourth a fcuk idiot like that and the content of your posts in general....
Here's hoping the mods add "ignore" button to the forum asap so I don't waste any more time reading your drivel again.

wee ned ? I thats right cause lots of neds drive around in Lotus exiges. Maybe you should venture out into the city more instead of "playing in the mud" in banjo country, and you would realise that they tend to opt for corsa's , saxos and the likes .
You know nothing about me so dont go around calling me a ned just cause I've had a few run ins with the cops? or because I am gonna paint my brake pads black ? or cause I have a small number plate ?
What exactly is it that makes you judge me as a ned ? simply the fact that I am young and own an car , which as qouted is "wasted on me " ? So what happens when I buy an "s" in the near future?

what a waste eh !
mon then

all chib ye dafty !

I hardly go looking for animosity with my posts , only searching advice.
I take all the insults as a laugh and a bit of banter , I call someone a fcuk idiot and i should be banned ?
Go for it . ban me .
I'll still be painting my pads, and wearing my "chav" plate .....and the rest

Ive only really met Ali , and another guy at collins tyres who uses the forum . I understand alot of you guys enjoy meeting up for runs etc. but its not really my thing , especially after being branded a ned by more or less the whole forum Id hardly feel comfortable. Anyway even if you thought the sun shone out my arse , its still not really my thing so prob wouldnt frequent such meetings, perhaps when I am older it may be more appealing but right now its not .
I am actually quite a nice guy (honestly) , People try on some banter around here I like to give it back , some cant take it some can.
all in good spirit .
