Re: 111R rebuild

I only work on the car during the day, when she is at work ............ usually :D

The install of the supercharger and intercooler will be the same as it is on a 2 eleven. A 2elevens engine cover is flat and as far as I can tell the height of the rear clams are approx the same between the elise and the 2 eleven. As long as neither the intercooler or the supercharger don't protrude above the height of the engine rocker cover, which they don't, and that the grill openings in the engine cover don't drop down to far then it will all fit.
If for some unforeseen reason that it doesn't fit then it will be the engine cover that it will affect not the clam as the cut out in the clam for the engine bay is wide enough to clear the engine. In that case there will have to be a rethink regarding the engine cover and I'll cross that bridge if and when I get to it.

But it is a very valid point which I have wondered about myself, no way to know for sure until the end when the clam is fitted, as with any thing like this there is always an element of suck it and see :D

With the right collective brains and Mike's boundless talent, I imagine a revised engine cover will be a...er...doddle :-)

Why are you asking Iain...got a project of your own in mind?!

Car taking shape nicely.

What kind of supercharger is that, is it the same one, that's used in the Exige, and 211, or are they all different?

Nice thread :thumbsup

Steve.

Tut, is it the same supercharger that is used on the Exige S, Exige cup, Exige V6, Evora S, and the 211?

Sorry for my ignorance

Cheers guys, things are coming together even if it is taking longer than I expected.

Steve, M62 charger is used on the Exige S2's and 2-11. The new Exige, like the Evora uses a different charger and not sure about the new Elise S.

I did not think it was the same one Steve until Mike told me that was the one that he was fitting to his car.

However I do not know about the rest of the range, Mike can answer that.

OK here goes,
Elise (2zz-GE) SC uses a Eaton M42 non intercooled.
Exige S, 2-11 260 cup cars and my Elise use an intercooled Eaton M62.
Evora S and the new V6 Exige use a non intercooled or charge cooled Harrop HTV1320 supercharger.
The New Elise S uses a 2ZR-FE engine and a Magnuson R900 Supercharger water charge cooled.

Bit of a bugger about the manifold Mike.

As regards drilling, it looks as if a couple of the holes overlap so would this cause a problem, or could you fill the originals?
