Paul has offered to "test fit and map" one of there plug in units to a yota engined car. Anyone with a 111R or mk2 Exige interested, just to see what it could do?

Sorry . . . stoopid uneducated questions again . . .

What's a dyno? What's this "plug in unit" that they want to test, fit and map to a yota engined car? I may be interested in this depending on the answers to my dumb-ass questions!

Sorry for the questions. Still new to all this.

Cheers,
D

Dynometer IIRC, it's a rolling road used for measuring torque (Not power) output of a car at the wheels. By using transmission drag an estimate of flywheel torque is then made and from that a power figure is worked out. Notorious for inconsistancy but normally a good estimate by all accounts. Nice to know if you are planning/have done any mods but always use the same place to get repeatable figures for repeat runs.

Apparently, this works with the Yota engined cars only, as the standard K series management system is far to clever for it with multiple mapping built in.

I know Shug has his opinions on these, but a "there you go" demonstartion might be cool. Obviously you dont get to keep the unit but there may be "special" price offeres on the day.

I thought the Yota was controled by a variation of the same K4 controller found on the K powered S2's.

As for piggybacks - I've got one, but rather than just "upping" the figures mine steals the signals and put's it through it's own EFI ecu.

Cheers

As far as I know, it plugs in to one of the ports, then you disconnect it come service/warranty time to return it to standard. You would have to ask Paul at Dastek to clarify the details though. He said he would register on here to answer any questions.
