Every other time I pop round I come away with one.

I'll be Out of Ayrshire until next Thursday Pete, but have the Thursday Friday off. Plan to pop up to Killie for a pair of rears on one of these days if you're around.

Look I took one off! I've discovered an easy way of undoing bolts too...

IF you needed that to get the bolts off I might buy some new bolts ... they're cheap, but get them from Lotus or at least make sure you read the parts manual and get the correct type of bolt.

Good luck putting it back together again ... I hope you noted down the position of all the spacery washery bits ...

Cheers,
Robin

When you say "noted down position of" I saw where most of them landed. Hmmm. That machine is quite, errm, vigorous.

(It's not my impact driver, I was lent it for something else and wanted to play with it. It is VERY good at undoing bolts.)

Be sure to save the rubber orings and re-grease them before going back on to help the life of the rod ends. If you break any you can get a fitting kit with fresh ones, or I've got a couple if you need the odd one.

All now off after a tutorial from woody yesterday. One spring broken so worthwhile.

And one shock, when I turn the adjuster it spins as if it is undoing rather than making a positve clicking action.

Ho hum - back to Nitron I guess.

And |(and yes I know I'm doing this thread all wrong, consisting as it does entirely of questions).

The bracket into which the top of the shock fits looks a tad bent. On both sides.

I don't know if that shows it clear enough. It looks like the shock rubs on the bracket. It also looks like the bracket is quite easy to replace. (He says hopefully).

They look fine.

The brake lines look stretched though, as if the suspension weight is now taken by them. Prop up the wishbones with some of that wood you have to save the lines.

Actually you might need to sheath those lines where they go through the P-clip (that's the rubbery thing bolted to the wishbone).

If you remove the P-clip and have a look inside it you can see whether it is an issue.

If the rubber has been fretted away by the steel line then assuming this continues, eventually the rubber will be gone and the steel line will rub on the steel frame of the P-clip. At that point the hose will burst (as happened to Kelvin all those years ago!).

Cheers,
Robin
