No worries and I apologise - it was not my intention to pick holes in your project, I was just trying to help.

When I ask a question about something it's 'cos I don't know the answer, not because I am picking holes.

I hadn't realised that the pipe work in the chassis was the same diameter as the MR2 - for some reason I assumed it was different - my mistake.

For what it's worth I have commented positively on other aspects of your build.

I like to know why something works/does not work and it has served me reasonably well to date in fixing people's problems, some of them complex!

Anyhow, I now realize you are posting a blog and when you post about issues it's not because you're looking for help.

Best of luck with your project.

Paul, at some stage it would be good if you could sit down with Robin and have a beer with him. He is the one that keeps all of us in check, after the twelve years that I have known him he never seems to amaze me with what is tucked inside what seems to be a normal sized head, and is always on here or the end of a phone if we have problems.

There is no way that he would criticise you, as Campbell says he is always there to help, but if he sees something that he thinks does not fit the bill he will point it out, but always in a helpful way. It looks as if you have realised that, there have been a couple of comments on lighten up, but that is only because he is a National treasure.

I taught him all I know, so he must be good.

I appreciate that tut, which is why i have apologised to Robin, i've been under a lot of stress with people on other forums giving me a very hard time over this conversion, and i over-reacted.

Robin your comments are very welcome, again sorry for any offence caused, it is not my way, i just get a little defensive when i put so much into these builds.

Robin's point about the blog-esque nature of the build thread is a thought-provoking one. A very good point in fact - so Paul please do continue to share, as others have said, you can be fairly reassured that there is unlikely to be much (if any!) flaming here. Takes a fair amount to provoke the locals in this neck of the interweb ;-)

Now let's get back to the fly on the wall docudrama!

Apologies for the lack of updates, things have been very busy recently and the Lotus took a bit of a back seat while waiting for further parts to arrive but we are back on track now.

The dead bird must have made the blower odour lovely. Is there not a picture of one of tut's cars with a pheasant in the grill?
Can't wait for a vid of the completed work on track!

I was down last week seeing the car and believe me, it sounds AWESOME :love :love The video clip doesn't do it justice! It sounds far better than I was expecting with the Larini, really looking forward to hearing it balls out!

The attention of detail and fabrication on this build is mind blowing seeing it in the flesh. Paul you're doing a grand job :thumbsup

Hopefully if all goes well with the roadtesting etc, I'm hoping the first track outing is going to be on the AMP3 trackday, if there is any space available when I get a rough idea when it's going to be ready.

How long before you think it will be ready to leave Paul? Its looking good.

Re the rad I think people have to remember its not a k series so usual fixes might not apply.

I'd estimate around 1-2 weeks total left now before it's 100%, certainly a lot longer than i ever imagined it would take, but first time builds sometimes go like this.

Yes i totally agree, i was advised by "experts" elsewhere that the problem was how i had plumbed it or i had overlooked something, but we knew it was simply the rads efficiency, we've seen this many times before using the V6 on cars with inadequate radiators.
