I've been following this thread even thought most of it (ok, all of it) is completely over my head. I just want to see the result.

Glad to see it's running. Must have been my Uri Geller-like telepathy that willed it to start.

Twas good to share the start up with you Mike, and see the half smile/have confused look when it kept running :D.

My thoughts are that the injectors are the wrong CC for the map that's on the new ECU, and the stack error is a red herring caused by something else. I real tidy install though, and will make a great all round fast car.

Look forward to seeing it on the road/track.

Alan :cheers

New injectors arrived this morning and have been fitted. New ECU re-fitted and the car still will not run. Therefore the only conclusion can be the ECU given that it ran with the ex-Shug ECU. SO will box it up and send it ti Craig to have it checked.

Also managed to burn out the actuator for the electric boot release, fortunately I have found a replacement which is really cheap.

All in all not a good day

Ah well, that's that theory out...

As discussed can only be ECU then.

On the clock fault, I would still like to see the schematic for the early clocks and compare it with the new clocks as every schematic I look at uses Can Bus to function rev counter, speedo etc :scratch.

It's a challenge Mike, chin up. I'll buy you a beer later on :D

Just heard back from Craig about the ECU. Apparently the factory ship new ECU's installed with conflicting settings for the throttle position and it needs to be connected to Lotus tech center to set it up the first time it's installed. So nothing wrong with the ECU and will now arrive configured for plug and play :D .

Mike, if you want it fitted in the car and started (for peace of mind) let me know. I'm needing to pick up my welder anyway, Fiesta has a small crack in the exhaust.

Come on boys, do you really think after all the sweat and tears that Mike has been through, that he will let you put in the last piece of the jigsaw and steal his wee moment of glory.

Chancers the both of you
