I've not really worked it out, but a tank is now doing over 250+ miles vs a more traditional 200 and I have seen it as low as 150. Driving style etc has some effect obviously but the 250+ over about 600miles on the Arisaig trip was generally on little roads pax plus all the luggage I could carry which wouldn't exactly be considered an economy run. So a great side benefit.

This makes the exige the most economical car in my fleet by a long way!
Have you adjusted the Cam timing ? made a huge difference to my car. No longer has the rough idle (which most people liked, but really shouldn't have :D ). If you do, measure it before you adjust, just for a laugh to see how far out it actually is.

Ricky fitted Verniers and set it before I put the 190 ECU in. So in theory it should be perfect, he siad the 177 pulley was pretty close though. The 190 ECU and the remote thermostat (lower temp) were not compatible. They just conspired to add fuel.

It's still a bit rough on tick-over but nothing like what it was, possibly a little rich. Craig told me about problems starting and he was 100% spot on. Generally it starts fine, but for the first 10sec, you really can't touch the throttle or it just dies. Odd, but once you know it's not really an issue.

Well put

- spoke to Dan Jude's wife on the phone a few weeks ago - and she thinks a VHPD goes like a bag of nails because it's a "race engine" - bull***te - it goes like that because the people that built the engine and mapped it didn't know what they were doing -

the map still needs work if you are having anything than modern OEM like ignition and warm up, the 872 cam is a pretty mild affair -

by the by I have found most Emerald cars to have shocking cold fueling adjustment and ign curves at or near idle - it's just sloppy work.

I think most just concentrate on the high load side of the map as they tend to be tracked, but the low/mid throttle is just important IMO. I use the Caterham on the road as well as track, so have spent a fair bit of time getting the low/mid throttle correct. Still have a bit of work to do but improving all the time.

and have to agree on the idle, it doesn't have to be rough.....still preferred the rough idle though

You can adjust pretty much everything in the Emerald, but just takes forever to go through it all.

- just an example

I found the maps done at Emerald had cold fueling in excessive percentages all the way up to 80 deg

now the OEM stat works at 88 deg so fine, ultimately

but my stats are 74 deg for best power

- so Uldis's and Mark Bowles's engines were never out of choke

which is plain dumb -

but a lesson - if you want it done right.... do it.....?
