It's sh*t 2 channel astra diesel ABS so it's crap on 17"s as it is. On track it cuts in really early when it gets hot and zaps all confidence. Many people have noticed that it goes into ice mode (ie no braking) a lot more if you move to 16"s. Some have fitted 111R abs units, others have just turned it off
Focus ST estate, i3s and more pushbikes than strictly necessary.

....did i ever tell you about the Evora and VX220 i used to own?

I've had some scary moments on the road when the pedal went hard. Changed back to the normal size tyre and it stopped happening. Lotus/vauxhall claim that they've tested it and it's not a problem yet everyone experiences it and they conveniently changed the ABS to the 4 channel exige jobby for the VXR when they put 16" wheels on the front!

Where is CLCM in Edinburgh?

Also could they setup the Geo to reduce the understeer like TMS offer for the Europa?

I'm surprised by the rear toe - perhaps this is a genuine difference between Elise and VX ... the VX appears to run with near-parallel toe at the rear whilst the Elise run with plenty of toe in. Parallel toe is probably better for turn in, but will make the rear more lively ... perhaps that effect is killed by some other aspect of the rear steering geometry that is different from the Elise too.

Cheers,
Robin

If you know what aspect of the geo needs to change, then Willie can change it for you. If it requires you to bolt on new parts, or machine or otherwise alter the standard parts, then that's not what he does.

:withstupid People with the surname Thorn are not to be trusted! :p

SAJ - The first time I went into CLCM I just went in and asked him to get rid of the understeer, and make the turn in nice and sharp. Left him to do the rest! :thumbsup
I'm sure he should be able to sort you out.

Ta both -I did wonder if it was Thorney - but then thought everyone knew his rep so must be someone else.

Saj See Donkeys comments - I have heard from numerous quarters that Courtney is the better option although have no personal experience to pass judgement myself. Hoffmans gets great reviews too and has probably got more experience with Europas than anyone else out there.

Thanks everyone, was just using TMS as an example of what I was looking to get done. I'm betting the pot holes have knocked it out of alignment anyway but basically I want to get rid of the rest of the understeer. The wider front tyres only help so much.

These are the details I found - 11 Bankhead Dr, Edinburgh EH11 4EJ, United Kingdom, +44 131 458 5559 are they correct?‎

What sort of money am I looking at also?

to reduce understeer you need to increase front camber. This is free. But on the S2 (and i presume the VX but i dont know for sure) you run out of available camber. I took me steering arms off and had them machined by stu pollock , and 4mm of skimming gave me an extra 1 deg of camber.
