OKOK, I've admitted as much before. It wasn't even wet, just a bit moistJohn Reid wrote:Thats because you are a girl who gets scared driving with Maxsports in the wet...RICHARDHUMBLE wrote:Geo settings from Steve B are v. agressive IIRC. I have Gordon-lite settings, but it depends on the car. Rich
The problem was Mark tried to get nearer to Gordon's settings but the shims didn't work out, so I went for the gayer settings to save my tyres a bit.

His kits are set to different ride heights though. He messes around with springs and collar settings on the shock. I think I have VX220 springs on the front with std S2 springs on the back of mine.
Best bet is to phone Geary at Eliseparts and ask him all about it. He knows his stuff as well..

Had a quick look thro my emails from Steveb an yea there was a lot of options with varying prices. I went for the most expensive (we're only talkin £20 over Gearys) which also happened to be the lowest ride height 110/120 = the best one!!

I would recommend fitting the steering rack raisers (at a later date) tho, unless the bolts wont budge! - it's not worth THAT much hassle so a lot of people don't change them, but it makes it feel a bit better. The brackets seemed to be Lotus OE by the way.

Like I said, I have a spare set sitting in the toolbox if you want them.Scottd wrote:I would recommend fitting the steering rack raisers (at a later date) tho, unless the bolts wont budge! - it's not worth THAT much hassle so a lot of people don't change them, but it makes it feel a bit better. Do a search here on S2 suspention and you'll find loads of info. You have to be carefull which mounts you fit depending on the year of your S1 and how mush rear sag you want. Anyone wishing to buy S2 kit should e mail Steve and ask him about which mounts are required and also ask about the rear sag issue. Just dont go and buy *any* S2 kit with *any* old springs set in *any* old way.... it will make the car handle worse than it does on the Konis
Some info from Steve on a SELOC thread here http://forums.seloc.org/viewthread.php?tid=79875&page=2
And as i've said before..... geometry is a very personal choice reg settings. But i've played with S2 kit on an S1 Elise and had all kinds of weird and wonderfull geo. And from what I found...... 1deg rear toe is too much and causes exaggerated liftoff oversteer and tends to make the car feel a bit "dead".

Dont know, my car had them fitted when I got it. I do know that fitting the kit and getting the full geo made a big difference to the way it handled. You wont be disapointed, trust me.craigs135s wrote:no hurry john. will hope to have the suspension done by then. will that make a diffrance to fiting the raseers???![]()
