They (mechanic) should clear the codes at the same time as the repair/replacement!

pisher! car going to mmc tomorw and it has activated limp mode. nothing above 3k rpm!

as long as i can change up gear i will stillbe able to get through to mmc. tested today and can still reach 50mph in 6th gear.

hopefully there aint anything else wrong with it....

I wouldnt be driving it if its gone into limp mode, use someones AA/RAC cover to get it to MMC?

Could disconnect the battery over night to reset the ECU so it might get you there in the morning, although if its a prominent problem it will more than likely trip limp mode quite quickly.

All sorted,

MAF sensor replaced and service carried out by normal by KIRK at mmc, top bloke very professional.


The drive up was an absolute jokoe tho....am sure when limp mode goes on it should be fine but limp mode combined with a faulty MAF sensor = very bad driving.

I ran through almost a full tank to get 40 miles. black smoke out me exhaust if i didnt catch the right rev range/speed that the engine wanted.

but am glad its sorted had a good drive home.
