Blue Pagids :(
I know , I know its sounds daft but we all buy cars for different reasons , a large part of my desire for the s2 exige is how it looks . The performance is eh ....a bonus ?
If I am being honest I love every single last thing bout my exige , performance , looks , sound you name it . i clean the car at least twice a week in winter and prob bout 5 times a week in summer , sad I know but I hate any imperfections and at the moment this is bothering me , not to mention the crack at the rear clam
Agreed you can only see a little of the pad AT THE FRONT , but its the rear thats more visible.
What about only painting the rears then ? Do the fronts not get the most stress anyway ?
I was thinking some of this stuff , withstands 600 degrees

I wish i had enough credibility to suggest colour coding my brake pads
If performance isnt your main concern, pagids are not necessary. flog the pagids and swap them for some mintex 1144's. Yup, they're half the price, black and as a bonus, your discs will last longer. Dont work quite as well mind you

Arriving broadside, in a cloud of smoke......
You can paint the back of the pads - the back of the pad is used to transfer heat away from the friction material (along with the disk, obviously), and so it does get very hot. I would guess that a paint designed for the purpose would be OK, but I would try and make the paint as thin as possible to minimise the effect on heat transfer and to have the smallest amount of paint to actually set fire too should it not work. Any fire will be short lived and I cannot see the rubber seals (which have to withstand repeated heating to 300-400C anyway) suffering - could be wrong though.
As suggested above, if you're not driving the car on track, pagids are overkill - mintex 1144 a very respectable fast road pad, black and cheaper than pagids. I'll give you 75% of what the pagids cost you assuming they're nearly new, you buy the 1144s and you'll have enough money spare to buy fuel for 3 road races and a 1/4 mile drag against a slammed 206gti next weekend
(only kidding).
Cheers,
Robin

brake pad colour coding....ffs
If your going to bother, why not paint them orange?
ps - the good thing about them being blue is people know they are pagids and not the normal sh8t
For future reference rs14's are black - but sound like overkill for you as they are more for racing and can be quite harsh and noisy
