Mine does it sometimes, feck knows what it is. Sounds like somethign spinning down, probably important.

You getting out the car - could be the suspension?

Fair point. Was concerned because it's a new noise, and I'm currently doing 1000 miles a month commuting round the effing bypass every day.....
