Can someone please advise whether i've screwed my discs or if I can simply buy MMC pads and fit them

Anyone? Am I right in thinking that the MMC pads deposit a layer of material onto the disks which then acts as the friction surface (and stops the disk from wearing)? So looking at those pics, it only seems to be light surface wear and if so, maybe new MMC pads would restore the surface?
I may of course be talking bollocks! Someone will be along in a minute who knows what they're talking about.
I've changed the front pads on that car a couple of times, and believe me when I say its a doddle! 5-10 minutes each side. Be sure to use coppaslip tho as the squeal something chronic if you don't!

No idea whether the discs are screwed or not but if you want a hand changing the pads give me a shout, they're pretty easy though.

I would change to the correct pads and see how it goes,they dont look to bad.

I did wonder about giving them a very light sand (by hand) to remove any crud from the EBC's

Discs look ok, but the only way of telling will be get proper pads in and thrash the tits off them. They will either recover or wear very quickly. I reckon you'll be fine but it will probably take a bit to scrub them back in.

cheers guys, i'm gonna attempt the fronts first as I still have the old pads, then when the rears arrive, hopefully i'll have a good clue as to what i'm doing
Fingers crossed the discs will be fine, time will tell I suppose.

Fronts are completely different to the rears so it won't really help you doing that

Changing the pads over was really easy, although it took me a couple of hours as I was taking it slowly so as not to make a mistake. Winding back the pistons on the rears was a bit of a pain, but overall, the most problematic part was realising that i'd driven to my mums where the car was without the rear pads
Great to be out in the Lotus again though following much Audi driving...

Sorry to jump in a little late, but if still possible, I'd throroughly clean the discs with brake cleaner or similar before trying the MMC pads.
That will at least help to get any deposits away.
From there, it's fingers crossed and test if they still work
